Animal science: how do scientists know theses things?
How do they know that Dogs see things in black and white?
how do they know an eagle can see for miles with clear precise vision?
how do they know a rhino has poor eyesight?
how do they know snakes and other reptiles see in heat seeking sort of vision?
how do they know fish cant feel pain?
(have they been a fish in there past life)
yes there is humans that are colour blind but its rare most people see in colour so how do they come up with this idea of dogs only seeing black and white, My German shepherd dog HATES light green high visibility jackets and vests (you know the ones workmen use at a building site) ohh god dont come to my house with one on he will eat you alive, i dont have a clue why he just hates that colour
Dogs see in blues and greens, not black and white. Dogs cannot see red colors. Neither can bulls by the way. The red colors actually look green to them. Through experimentation, we can tell if an animal can distinguish between two different colors.
Eagles can see long distances with detail because their eyes have a longer focal length than ours, which makes their eyes equivalent to a pair of binoculars, and their retina is packed with large numbers of small cone cells, giving them lots of resolving power and excellent color discrimination.
Some of these facts are discovered through anatomical studies, and some through experimentation and of course observation of Wild Animals.
Only some snakes can “see” with facial pits. These are the “pit vipers.” Again, this is discovered through observation and experimentation, as well as anatomical studies.
