It might seem like a silly idea to outfit your pet with dog or cat sweaters, because after all: They’re animals right? They have a furry coat to keep them warm and many of their forefathers once roamed freely in the frigid outdoors, so they must be able to maintain comfortable body temperatures — or so we all think. The truth is, humans once lived in cold caves and for some time, we even lived without head (fire), but as we and our pets become accustomed to the luxuries of modern society; the less we are like we once were.

Our civilized pets need dog and cat sweaters to keep warm and adapt to sharp temperature drops that can often happen during fall, winter and spring. Even letting your little kitty outside, after they’ve been lounging inside all day long can play havoc on their system when it has to go from warm, to frigid cold. Tossing warm wool cat sweaters on your felines will give their body a nice head start before rushing out into colder temperatures.

Dog and cat sweaters also help showcase your pet when you take them out in public, or show them to friends and family. Pet owners should always fashion their pets in a way that compliments their personality or breed. For example: You probably don’t want to dress your Rottweiler in a frilly pink sweater any more than you want to dress your poodle in studded leather clothing. Cats can be a little easier, since most cats look good in pretty much any sort of sweater, collar, or booties.

Don’t be afraid to look online for your dog and cat attire. A great way to offset economic trouble is to bypass the middleman (store-front retailer), get a better deal and more choices than you would ever find at a retail store.
