Animal Kitchen

Dogs and cats in the kitchen?
Why is it most people would go nuts if they saw an animal in a restaurant, but they think nothing of their dogs and cats being in their own home kitchen? Some don’t mind if the cat gets on the counter where they place food. I’ve seen people pet their dogs or cats, then go straight to fixing a meal. No one can tell me these animals are cleaner than people. I’ve seen dogs lick their ass, then lick their master’s hands. I’ve seen cats eat mouse entrails, then come in and nudge their face against a humans. What to do you think?
For whatever reason Americans are animal phobic in the extreme when compared to other cultures. Maybe it is just because we have always had room to live in separate buildings from our farm animals. We are not welcoming to other people’s companion animals in any public spaces not just restaurants. In Europe we see small dogs everywhere, on trains, in public buildings, parks, public transportation. The size of the animals and the fact that they are well behaved and obedient to their owners probably has a lot to do with the tolerence factor.
